OCRecipes

Terms of Service

Effective October 4, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Family Meal Planning Services (“we”, “us”), the business that operates the OCRecipes app. By creating an account or using OCRecipes you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

Who can use OCRecipes

You must be at least 13. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian’s permission, and they agree to these terms on your behalf.

Your account

Keep your password private and your email address current, because we use it for password reset codes and security notices. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at support@ocrecipes.com if you think someone else has accessed it. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete Account.

Not medical advice

OCRecipes provides general nutrition information, not medical advice. It is not a substitute for a doctor, dietitian or other qualified professional. Talk to one before changing your diet, especially if you have a health condition, are pregnant, take medication (including GLP-1 medications), or have a history of disordered eating.

Nutrition values, allergen information, and AI-generated content (photo analysis, coach replies, recipes, meal plans) can be wrong or incomplete. Always check ingredient labels yourself, especially for allergies. Never rely on OCRecipes alone to decide whether a food is safe for you.

Premium subscription

Content you add

You own the recipes, photos, notes and other content you add. To run the app, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, copy and display your content as needed to provide OCRecipes to you.

When you publish a community recipe (recipes are public by default), you also let us show it to other users, adapt its format, and include it in the recipe data we offer to businesses through the OCRecipes API. When you scan a nutrition label, you let us use the label’s product information, without your name or account, in our shared product nutrition data, including through the OCRecipes API. The recipe licence ends when you delete the recipe or your account, except for copies already given to API customers, which we cannot recall. The label licence continues after you delete your account, because the product information is not linked to you and stays in the shared product data.

Only add content you have the right to share, and don’t publish anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, misleading about health, or that infringes someone else’s rights. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms.

Acceptable use

Don’t misuse OCRecipes. For example, don’t:

Our content

The app, its design, and the content we provide (including recipe images we generate) belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app under these terms.

Third-party services

Some features rely on other companies, such as OpenAI for AI features and public nutrition databases. We are not responsible for their services, and they may change or become unavailable.

Changes and availability

We may add, change, or remove features, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using OCRecipes after the change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.

Ending these terms

You can stop using OCRecipes and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put other users or the service at risk. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as the content licences for copies already shared, the disclaimers, and limits of liability, continue after your account ends.

Disclaimers

To the extent the law allows, OCRecipes is provided “as is” and “as available”. We make no promises about the accuracy of nutrition, allergen or AI content, and no promise that the app will always work or be error-free.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim about OCRecipes is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Premium in the 12 months before the claim, or CAD $50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your rights under consumer protection laws where you live.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes will be decided by the courts of Alberta, unless the consumer protection laws where you live give you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
